Vietcombank launched VCB Digibank app

The Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) officially launched a novel digital bank service, VCB Digibank on July 16.  

VCB Digibank is built on the consolidation of separate transaction platforms of Internet Banking and Mobile Banking; thus, customers will have constant and consistent experiences on electronic means such as computers (PCs/Laptops) and mobile devices (phones/tablets).

VCB Digibank has 02 basic forms including app-based and web-based, potential to bring the service experience to customers in a novel way.

Mr. Dao Minh Tuan, Vietcombank’s general director spoke at the VCB Digital Launch event.

With VCB Digibank, only one username and password, which is each customer’s phone number registered with the bank, are provided to customers. It is no longer difficult for customers to remember two of their own usernames and passwords separately.

There will be a limit for online transactions, up to VND 1 billion and VND 3 billion per transaction, provided to the normal customers and customers of Priority Banking, respectively.

Journalist Truong Anh Ngoc and VTV’s Weather MC Mai Ngoc are two of the first VCB Digibank customers.

VCB Digibank also has the state-of-art security (authentication technology) such as Face ID, Touch ID or Push Authentication – a novel technology to grant the control to users logging into VCB Digibank via web browsers each time

In particular, VCB Digibank also has built-in Smart OTP authentication, replacing sending authentication codes via traditional SMS. Smart OTP has outstanding advantages with improved security layers, higher transaction limits and cross-border transactions independent of sending SMS.

In addition, the feature of receiving notifications of balance fluctuations via OTT messages (OTT Alert) replacing SMS notifications, which is integrated into VCB Digibank's Mobile app, is cost-effective for customers.

VCB Digibank also provides comprehensive and modern utilities for customers in a quick manner, including 24/7 instant transfer, money transfer calendar/scheduling, online savings, payments for bills of water - electricity - telecommunications - health - education - insurance and public services, automatic bill pay, top-up, QR Pay, hotel/flight booking and online shopping, online inquiry, etc.

Dark mode is one of the biggest trends in design today.

Not only is it synchronous in term of the internal core platform, but the entire interface of VCB Digibank on the web browser as well as the mobile app has been redesigned by Vietcombank using a unified design language. The default interface of VCB Digibank is designed in "dark mode" style with darker-colored background, a prominent trend used for software and operating systems at the present time. “Dark mode” has positive health benefits for user, optimizes battery life and extent durability of devices.

Additionally, a wide range of wallpapers for VCB Digibank can be personalized to the user preference. In particular, VCB Digibank on the web browser is also equipped with a login time authentication system which automatically displays the real-time morning, afternoon and evening frames which are potential to create the exciting experiences for customers.
